Would You Do it?

Would you do it? Would you enter this giveaway if it meant you could get something that nobody else in the WORLD had? To be able to get something so precious that no dollar amount could ever match its worth? Heck, I would, or I’d at least be interested in looking into it 😂

Here’s the fun news- Each of us, we already are the lucky giveaway winners. The unique, priceless gift? Your body. My body. Our bodies.

I’ve often read quotes or heard people say, “your imperfections are what make you you, they are what make you beautiful!” And while yes, I do agree with that, I’ve never been able to quite fully accept that, and all of my body insecurities have remained, which has resulted in me constantly picking myself apart and wanting to change certain parts of me.

But a friend of mine brought up this concept that absolutely blew my mind. She talked about how when we get a new phone, or a new pair of shoes, it brings us so much excitement. We want to show them off to everyone, and we definitely make sure to take the very best care of them so that we can preserve this newest prized possession. Right?

But if you think about it- our bodies are (or should be) our most prized possessions. Quite literally they are the most crucial and necessary things in our lives. Without them, we wouldn’t be alive. Yet diet culture fools us into thinking we need to deny and manipulate our bodies so that we can look a certain way, so that we can conform to this unattainable standard of beauty. The complete opposite of taking the very best care of them. And when thinking objectively about bodies in terms of things, or objects, thats pretty damn cool that every single one of us has a different one. That there’s absolutely nobody that has the same exact body as us.

I don’t know about you but I think that is pretty neat, and an incredible reminder for me, the next time I find myself comparing my body to someone else’s, wishing mine could look like hers. This is the body that I’ve been given, and I need to show it off and be excited about it, and all of the things that it can do, just as I would a new phone or pair of shoes. I challenge you to join me in doing the same. Remind yourself that what we have is one of a kind and that is incredible! But as always- progress, not perfection.
